Grappa Nonino

Grappa is an exclusively Italian brandy made from grapefruit’s marc from Italy. Grappa is stemming from the distillation of varietals and it may contain 37.5% to 60% alcohol by volume.

Classical Grappas were produced from different varietals, but the modern Grappa is a prestigious beverage since it’s “Monovitigno” (only one varietal, trademark from Nonino’s family). This “revolution” is the Grappa’s world is entirely due to this family that created the Monovitigno Grappa in 1973 (especially the Picolit, a traditional varietal from Friuli that was about to disappear). In 1984, the family wants to try distillating the whole grapefruit. That is how the very first grapefruit brandy came to be, after long negociations for obtaining ministerial authorisations.
